Key takeaways
- The best day must be strictly below 50% of total net profit.
- New tests require three trading days; older accounts may still show five.
- Passing leads to a simulated PRO account; PRO+ is a later, discretionary live-account upgrade.
- Rules checked against Take Profit Trader's help center on October 24, 2026.
To pass the Take Profit Trader challenge, do not aim for exactly half the target on day one. Exactly 50% is not below 50%. Give the consistency calculation room for commissions, fees, and a small losing day.
Start with the full prop firm evaluation method, then use the TPT-specific numbers below.
Current test account lineup
| Size | Profit target | Maximum loss | Max minis / micros | Minimum days |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25K | $1,500 | $1,500 | 3 / 30 | 3 |
| $50K | $3,000 | $2,000 | 6 / 60 | 3 |
| $75K | $4,500 | $2,500 | 9 / 90 | 3 |
| $100K | $6,000 | $3,000 | 12 / 120 | 3 |
| $150K | $9,000 | $4,500 | 15 / 150 | 3 |
Take Profit Trader changed the minimum from five days to three for new tests on August 17, 2026. Existing accounts can remain on their original rules. The dashboard attached to the account wins.
The strict consistency rule
TPT calculates:
Highest-profit day ÷ total net profit = consistency percentage
The result must be below 50%. If the best day is too large, the account is not failed. The required profit increases until the percentage falls below 50%.
| Size | Original target | 50% line | Safer three-day pace |
|---|---|---|---|
| $25K | $1,500 | $750 | $500/day |
| $50K | $3,000 | $1,500 | $1,000/day |
| $75K | $4,500 | $2,250 | $1,500/day |
| $100K | $6,000 | $3,000 | $2,000/day |
| $150K | $9,000 | $4,500 | $3,000/day |
A $1,500 best day on the $50K test is exactly 50% of a $3,000 target and therefore does not qualify. Total net profit must be greater than $3,000. If the best day is $1,800, the account needs more than $1,800 × 2 = $3,600.
Test, PRO, and PRO+ are different stages
The test is the evaluation. After passing, the simulated PRO account currently pays an 80/20 split and requires a buffer equal to the original maximum drawdown before withdrawals. PRO uses an intraday trailing drawdown based on peak balance, including unrealized gains, and stops trailing at starting balance.
PRO+ is a live account offered by invitation after a holistic review. It starts at $0 with an EOD drawdown equal to the original account drawdown, pays 90/10, and does not use the PRO withdrawal buffer. PRO and PRO+ prohibit automated bots, counter positions, and open orders around specified FOMC, NFP, and CPI events.
The current official materials emphasize maximum drawdown and stage-specific risk controls rather than one universal daily-loss table. If a daily threshold appears in the purchased-account dashboard, use that live value.
Use Eden as related-market context
Use SPY in Eden beside ES/MES, QQQ beside NQ/MNQ, IWM beside RTY/M2K, and GLD beside GC/MGC. Review structure, momentum, P-Trans, N-Trans, and expected-move targets. Then set the actual futures entry, stop, target, and size on the futures chart.
Eden publishes options-derived levels for US optionable stocks and ETFs. It does not publish futures-contract levels. A SPY level is context for ES, not an ES order price.
Common TPT failure modes
- Landing exactly at 50% and assuming that qualifies.
- Confusing test rules with PRO’s intraday trailing drawdown.
- Giving unrealized PRO profit back after it raises the floor.
- Trading prohibited news windows or using automation after funding.
Frequently asked questions
How hard is it to pass Take Profit Trader?
The target is paired with a strict consistency test: the best day must be below 50% of total net profit, not equal to 50%. The maximum drawdown remains the hard account boundary.
How fast can you pass Take Profit Trader?
New tests currently require at least three trading days. Accounts purchased before the August 17, 2026 rule change may retain the older five-day requirement, so check the dashboard.
What happens if you break Take Profit Trader’s drawdown rule?
Reaching the evaluation drawdown fails the test. Missing the consistency threshold does not fail the account; it raises the total profit needed to qualify.
What tools help with a Take Profit Trader test?
Use the firm’s dashboard for drawdown and consistency, and a planning tool for entries, stops, and targets. Eden can add related-ETF context but cannot guarantee a pass.
Read TPT’s current consistency rule and confirm the purchased account’s dashboard. For the complete sizing workflow, use the full evaluation guide.
